Extract the ZIP, enable Developer mode at chrome://extensions or edge://extensions, choose Load unpacked, and select the extension subfolder. Then refresh YouTube.

Confirm BotControl is enabled in your browser and Enable filtering is on in its settings. Refresh YouTube after loading or updating the extension. Supported desktop video cards show controls; mobile apps, every Shorts layout, and every YouTube surface are not covered.

Check the extension’s status message beside the email form. Confirm your address, check spam, and use the newest message. Wait at least a minute before requesting another code. If the service reports a limit or delivery error, capture the error text. Never share a sign-in code.

The extension expects a numeric code entered in Settings, not a browser redirect. During testing, tell the project owner the email subject and request time so the authentication template can be checked. Do not share confirmation links.

It personally hides cards from that YouTube profile. It does not submit an account vote. Account community blocking, if enabled in Settings, still uses separate account tallies; the compact card offers video voting only.

Choose “Show everything until I personally block it” in Settings. Everyone can still see tallies and percentage bars. The master Enable filtering switch turns off all filtering and card controls.

Replace the files in the same unpacked extension folder, reload BotControl in the browser extension manager, close old Settings tabs and refresh YouTube. Avoid uninstalling if you want to keep local choices.

For the invited early-access test, send the person who invited you your browser version, BotControl version, steps to reproduce, expected behavior, and any visible error. Hide email addresses, codes and tokens in screenshots. A public support channel is not available yet.
